OK, not going to lie, I love a close snuggle with my labrador but jeez she gets some wicked dog breath. While we make sure she gets vet-recommended dental treats and regular check ups, the struggle is always real. It’s not a medical condition, she’s just got stinky labrador breath. So, here’s a dog breath treat recipe to keep those close up cuddles (and licky kisses – sigh) nice.

Dog Breath Treats
Ingredients:
-1/2 Cups Chopped or Blended Fresh Mint
-1/3 Cups Chopped or Blended Parsley
-2 1/2 Cups Oat Flour
-3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
-1 Large Egg
Method

Pre-heat oven to 165°C
In a large mixing bowl combine the oat flour, egg, coconut oil, and chopped herbs; mix well to form a thick dough. If necessary, add flour until dough is no longer sticky.
On a floured surface, roll out your dough and cut out treats with a cookie cutter. Space evenly on a baking sheet topped with parchment paper and bake for 30-35 minutes. For a crispier cookie, flip over halfway through cooking time.
Allow to cool completely before giving to your dog to enjoy!
If your dog’s breath is foul, talk to your vet
Sometimes bad dog breath is a symptom of an underlying problem. Your dog could have an infected tooth, or stomach issues that need vet attention. These minty dog treats are for that everyday bad breath but if it persists, or if it’s particularly pungent, ask your vet.
