Harley’s Story
Until recently we have always had 2 – 3 dogs which meant they could keep each other company. However, just around Christmas we had to hand our big red fostered cattle dog back to his original owner, and our old black Labrador, Nellie, became an only child. She found this change very hard and lonely as she has spent her entire 11 years with other dogs and cats. Obviously we had to get a companion for her … but I didn’t want to burden her with the responsibility of raising a puppy, so we decided on an older dog … and we wanted a Lab. Looking on the Labrescue site was the the next step … and there was Harley!! A 12 yr old boy looking for his forever home. Has good health BUT he is totally blind. We filled in the paperwork etc and then after a few weeks took Nellie to meet Harley. I was besotted!! Harley came home with us that day. We have made a few changes with furniture placement so he is safe in the house. We are on acreage, and he has about half acre he can walk around safely which he loves! I can take him for walks on the lead and he is so good for me. Harley has found his forever home with us.
