Lola’s Journey from Rescue to Forever Home
Hilton rescued Lola, but really, Lola rescued Hilton. This is a very special Happily Ever After Story.

Hilton and Lola’s Story
“I write this epistle as a tribute to Labrador Rescue; to Tracey, a beautiful lady responsible for the re-homing of so many of our beloved furry friends; and to fate. My lovely, late wife Carole, my companion of some 65 years, passed away in late March 2022, a devastating loss from which I did not expect to recover. However a couple of months prior to Carole’s death I was wandering down to our favourite coffee haunt and seated at one of the tables was Tracey and with her, Lola – a chocolate brown 11-year-old labrador. Lola was up for adoption! Lola put her head on my knee and looked up at me with her sightless eyes. She became blind a year or so previously – her owners were unable to keep her. We believe that she was taken to the Vet to be “put down” but instead was surrendered to Labrador Rescue. Perhaps I saved Lola’s life? She certainly saved mine. Lola moved in and quickly learned to find her way around the house. Our life together is wonderful and we are both eternally grateful, especially to dear Tracey who continues to look out for both of us.
Sincerely
Hilton and Lola
