Marley’s Story
I believe sometimes things happen for a purpose. I am certain this happened when Marley came into my life. Marley is a 15 month old yellow male Lab who has been lovingly cared for by his his previous owner and foster carers, Kellie and Ollie. Without boring you, I am male, divorced, recently retired and live alone. I haven’t had a dog in my life for 10 years and missed the companionship only a dog can give, so I applied to Lab Rescue to adopt a rescue. I was given the opportunity to meet Marley at an off-leash park and if suited to each other, adopt him. At the park, Marley had the distraction of four other dogs but shared his time between them and us mere humans. He was obedient and came when called. Needless to say we both passed muster (him more than me I think) and Mar had found himself a forever home. He hasn’t disappointed. He has the most placid disposition you could ever want in a dog and settled in to his new home without problem. Although still a puppy at heart he is well trained in the basics. He loves the car, his walks, to play ball, tug-o-war and romp with other dogs at the off leash park. At other times he’s content to lie down and vege out. He has good manners and although he woofs his food down, will sit and wait until he gets the signal to eat. As I said at the start, I believe Marley was destined to come into my life. Here’s hoping I come up to his expectations and much as he has come up to mine.
