Meet gorgeous Beau, the mini Lab with the biggest personality! At just 14 months old, Beau weighs only 16kg and isn’t expected to grow much bigger. What he lacks in size, however, he more than makes up for with charm, affection, and a playful spirit.
Sadly, Beau didn’t have the best start in life and still carries some physical scars from his past.
Despite this, his brave little personality is beginning to shine through as he slowly learns that the world, and humans, can be kind and safe.
With patience, love, and the guidance of his foster fur siblings, Beau has discovered how wonderful life can be. He now enjoys cuddles with his humans, car rides, beach visits, walks, and simply being part of a family.
Beau is still very much a puppy, with plenty of puppy energy and a love for playtime. Occasionally, he needs a gentle reminder that not every dog shares his enthusiastic play style!
Before coming into care, Beau lived as an outdoor-only dog. While he has quickly learned from
his foster siblings where to toilet, he hasn’t yet learned how to “ask” to go outside, so he may
need some continued toilet training and patience in his new home.
Beau has never really been alone and has always had other dogs around him. He is only just
beginning to understand the companionship humans can offer. Because of this, Beau’s ideal
home would include another friendly, confident dog who still enjoys playtime, and who can help guide him through new experiences, and is happy to snuggle up with him at night.
It would also be beneficial if his humans are home more often than not, as Beau thrives on
companionship and reassurance. He is currently living happily with three other dogs — both
male and female — and gets along beautifully with all of them. His favourites, though, are the
girls, especially his foster sister and doggy mum, who he adores playing and cuddling with.
Beau can be left alone for short periods as long as he has another dog for company. Like any young pup, he may entertain himself by finding things to chew on, so ongoing supervision and enrichment will help him continue to thrive.
Beau is a sweet, resilient little soul looking for a patient and loving family who will help him
continue building confidence and discovering just how wonderful life can be.
Beau started Dog Obedience classes and is doing very well with his sit, stay and come commands;
continued training is a must. He walks well on a lead, however sometimes he gets a bit nervous
so it is best to walk him with another dog to help his confidence. Off lead dog parks and beaches
are not recommended at this stage.
Beau can get quite jumpy when excited, so is best suited to a family with older children. Beau is
a very smart little man who will thrive in a family that is willing to put the time and effort into him
to help him become the best dog he can be.
Beau is located in Brisbane and is available for adoption. He’s been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. He’s up to date with all worming and flea and tick treatments. This gorgeous boy is available to the right family for a rehoming fee of $1000.
