Duke is a friendly, affectionate, three-year old Labrador. He absolutely loves belly rubs. Duke enjoys being involved in whatever is happening around the house. He gets along well with other dogs and eagerly tries to meet everyone when out on a walk! Duke thinks that
everyone he meets is his new best friend. He has had limited training so is still learning his doggy manners. He knows how to sit and responds well to his name. He waits before eating and is learning to stay when asked. Duke is very strong, weighing 40kg and pulls on
the lead. Learning to walk nicely on a lead without pulling is a work in progress. Loose lead training and general obedience training are a must. Duke sleeps through the night and is toilet trained. Due to his large size, Duke would be best suited to a home with dog savvy children aged over 12. NO children under 10 yrs.
He is untested with cats. Duke has spent some time alone in the backyard of his foster family but can become unsettled and bark. He has been training with his foster family to be calm in the backyard by himself and responds well when asked to be quiet.
Duke would be ideally suited to a home where someone is home a lot so that he is not left by himself all day.
Importantly, Duke is recovering from a soft tissue shoulder injury. He has spent the last two weeks trying to stay calm and with no daily walks to give his shoulder time to heal. His new owner needs to commit to helping him with his recovery over the next couple of weeks.
Duke is a beautiful, affectionate boy who is looking for a family with previous dog owning
experience who:
– is full of love and patience
– is home a lot as Duke doesn’t like being left by himself all day
– is committed to daily exercise when his shoulder has recovered
– is committed to ongoing training including loose leash walking
– will include him in their daily life as much as possible
– has a fully secure backyard
– is physically strong and can manage a 40kg dog

DUKE is located in Sydney and is available for adoption. He comes desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, heart and intestinal worm treated with a ton of love for a rehoming fee of $900.00
