Meet Hunter – 2 years old | Chocolate Labrador | 44kg (aiming for a healthy 40kg)

Hunter is a big, handsome chocolate boy with an even bigger heart. At just 2 years old, he’s a medium-energy Lab who absolutely thrives on human connection. If you’re looking for a dog who will lean into you for pats, roll over for belly scratches, and happily be wherever you are, Hunter is your boy.

He’s toilet trained, well mannered in the home, and has not shown any destructive behaviour or nuisance barking when left alone. He simply enjoys being part of the family. He’s affectionate, goofy, and eager to please especially if there are treats involved! He’s very food motivated, which makes training a rewarding experience for everyone.

Hunter is continuing to build his skills. His recall is a work in progress, and while he walks well overall, he can pull toward interesting smells (he hasn’t had a lot of walk experience prior to foster care and is improving every day). With consistency and guidance, he’s keen to learn.

He has previously lived with female Labradors and would likely do best with a female canine companion. That said, he may also thrive as an only dog in a home where someone is around more often than not. He is good with children and has a gentle nature, though due to his size and goofiness, he may be better suited to families without very small toddlers.

Hunter comes from a farm background and is now discovering how wonderful family life can be. He loves playing fetch, enjoys a good game of tug, and most of all loves being included. His ideal home would involve him in outings, daily walks, and allow him inside as part of the family where he truly wants to be.

Hunter is a sweet, loyal, slightly goofy gentleman who will reward the right family with endless affection and companionship.

Hunter is located on the Sunshine Coast and is now available for rehoming. He’s been desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm tested. He’s up to date with all worming and flea & tick treatments. This gorgeous boy is available to the right family for a rehoming fee of $900.
