Description
When Nessie first arrived in foster care, life had clearly not given her much guidance or structure. She had received very little training, was extremely boisterous and unruly, and was also carrying far too much extra weight. Simple things like manners, boundaries, and settling indoors were all completely new concepts to her.
Since being with her foster carers, however, Nessie’s transformation has been nothing short of incredible. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, she has blossomed into a beautiful, affectionate, and good-natured dog. She has learnt how to live happily as an inside dog and absolutely adores spending time close to her people. Whether she’s stretched out nearby relaxing or following her humans around the house, Nessie simply loves being included in family life. At the same time, she’s equally content entertaining herself outside with room to run and play, and she has shown no signs of separation anxiety.
Nessie is an intelligent girl who genuinely wants to learn, which has made her training journey very rewarding. She picks things up quickly and responds well to guidance, so she will thrive with a family committed to continuing her training and helping her keep building confidence and manners. In the right home, there is no doubt she will continue to flourish.
Because of her size and excitement levels, Nessie would be best suited to a home with a large secure yard where she can burn off energy and enjoy regular exercise. She is still learning not to throw her whole body into moments of excitement, so while she is incredibly loving, she can accidentally be a bit of a bulldozer at times. For this reason, she is not suited to a family with very young children.
Nessie has only had limited interactions with other dogs so far, but the experiences she has had have been positive. She seems eager to make friends and mostly just wants other dogs to play with. She is, however, definitely not a fan of cats.
The difference in Nessie since entering foster care is truly remarkable. Underneath all of her excitement is a loving, loyal, and happy dog who simply needed guidance, patience, and a chance to shine. Now she’s ready to find a forever family who will continue helping her become the amazing companion she was always meant to be.
