One day, Xavier’s family moved away, but left him behind to starve to death in the house. We found him underweight and suffering from “self-harm” due to stress. Now though, he’s loved deeply by his new family, including his beloved fur brother.
I was lucky enough to rescue Xavier one year ago today. And how lucky we are. From what I know Xavier came from a unloving home, I believe he was left abandon. How anyone could leave a house without a dog I will never understand, but such a loving one is beyond me. Anyway when Zaccy (my one year old lab at the time) and I met Xavier at his foster home it was love at first sight for Zaccy and Xavier. Amanda (Xavier’s foster mumma) had two labs as well as Xavier at her house and although with Zaccy coming in made four labs, Zaccy and Xavier bonded right away and played together without showing much interest in Amanda’s other two labs.
When I was able to bring Xavier home he was very underweight and had a damaged tail that took a very long time to heal. For a dog to have gone though what Xavier had been through you have never meet a more loving dog. He just craves attention and cant get enough, he loves everything and everybody. he is such a sweet boy.
Xavier wasn’t taught much from his original home and we still struggle with lead time, he can sit and one day when I asked him to shake he did, I was so surprised!!! He sleeps on my bed with zaccy each night and has made a habit of stepping on my hair every night!!! It drives me nuts but when I tell him off I get a kiss on the face each time! Zaccy and Xavier are best friends and although Xavier has come with challenges we wouldn’t change a thing!
Xavier has completed Zaccy and I and we love him very much.
