Our Foster Carers
The best way to help rescue Labradors in our community is to foster one!
Foster Carers are always needed. We place no obligation on you to take on one of our dogs, we understand that there
are only certain times when people can care for an (extra) animal.
If you can open your home and have enough time to provide temporary care for one of our rescues, please read the information provided below.
If you think fostering is for you, please complete the application form below.
You will be contacted via email after your application has been
assessed, please monitor your Spam and Junk folders as our emails may end up in there.

Role of the Foster CarerLabrador Rescue depends heavily on the commitment and dedication of our Foster Carers, this is why we offer support wherever we can while you have a dog. Foster caring does involve some paperwork duties from the carers. This requires access to a computer, a scanner, preferably a FB profile and assistance with sending us any paperwork for your foster dog in a timely manner. It is a Legislative requirement that Labrador Rescue maintains an up to date data base of all our dogs in care so this is an important part of your role. You will need to attend vet appointments, provide an honest profile and a beautiful photo of your foster dog. You will then be involved in selecting their extra special forever home.
How long will I have the dog for? Labradors are popular dogs and they usually find a new home quite quickly. Some may take longer, up to a month or two.

What will it cost me ?In terms of your financial outlay we do ask that you cover the cost of food and bedding for your foster dog. Labrador Rescue provides a foster care products pack that includes a collar, lead and monthly parasite/worm/tick treatment. All vet costs are covered (with approval) at approved Labrador Rescue vets
Where do the foster dogs come from? Most Labradors come from pounds or private surrenders when people can no longer look after their dog. Some of the dogs have had minimal socialisation so the role of foster carers is to assist with bringing out the best in these dogs so they can find their happy forever home.
