A few days after Violet's surgery ...

The vet did a great job. When the bandage came off, it was startling to realise how big the scar was but also at how neatly done.
Violet is doing really well. Her bed is A LOT less wet in the mornings, and her back legs/tail are not constantly wet!! So that's a really good sign. Still sometimes a small wet patch when she gets up after lying down somewhere for a period of time, but this is becoming less and less and sometimes she gets up and there is nothing! She has been going to the toilet lots, is squatting down and wee is actually trickling out in a nice consistent stream, AND she is seeming to be able to then stop it, which is also extremely exciting! Now she needs to learn to control her bladder and not wee every time she feels the urge. So this is being worked on with toilet breaks on lead only. Currently, she is a few days post op and finished her meds. So, from what has been observed, and what we were told to expect, it looks like everything is going in the right direction The biggest challenge is keeping her out of her water bowl as she should not get the stitches wet! And she is disappointed she is not getting her morning bathes anymore.

Thank you to everyone for your support!
