Yesterday Sophie had exploratory surgery today to see if a mass near her adrenal gland could be removed or a biopsy taken.
Sophie suffers from Immune Mediated Anemia (her immune system destroys its own red blood cells), so we wanted to be 100% sure before doing any surgery. After completing another round of blood tests and another ultra sound, we decided it wasn't worth the risk of surgery. Sophie is happy in life and happy in herself, she has been named the “smiling assassin”, but due to her medical issues will likely retire as a permanent Labrador Rescue dog and live her life out in foster care.
