Meet Sam — the biggest, sweetest cuddle-bug you’ll ever meet.
Sam is a 3-year-old Labrador with a whole lot of love (and body weight!) to give. At 47 kg, he’s not overweight—just a large, strong boy who sometimes forgets his own size, especially when he comes bounding over for cuddles. Because of his strength and enthusiasm, Sam would do best in a home without small children or elderly family members. He’s still learning his leash manners and can pull hard on walks, so someone willing to continue his training will be ideal. Sam knows his basic commands—sit, drop, and shake—but he’ll thrive with an owner who can help him build consistency. His off-lead recall is still a work in progress, though improving each day.
He came into care through no fault of his own, and since arriving a few weeks ago he’s settled beautifully into foster life. At first, Sam was anxious and paced quite a bit, but with gentle routine and a cozy crate at night, he’s found his calm. Sam gets along well with his 10-year-old Labrador foster sister, but he truly prefers to be your shadow. He loves being near his people and will cry if left outside while you’re indoors. However, when left alone during work hours, he has reportedly been perfectly fine.

Sam is located in Brisbane and is available for adoption. He’s been desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and is up to date with all worming and flea & tick treatments. This gorgeous boy is available to the right owner for a rehoming fee of $900.
